DholeraGIS is also available as a Chrome extension for quick desktop access. You do not need it to use DholeraGIS — this page does everything in your browser.

What is DholeraGIS?

DholeraGIS is a location-intelligence and routing tool for Dholera SIR and the surrounding region. It answers a practical question: from this point, how far is it by road to the places that matter in Dholera, and how long does the drive take? Use DholeraGIS directly in your browser on a phone, tablet or computer. Desktop Chrome users can also install the DholeraGIS extension for quick access.

How DholeraGIS works

  1. Paste a Google Maps location

Or type latitude and longitude, or tap Use My Location.

  2. Extract coordinates

DholeraGIS reads the place pin from the link, not the map view centre, and shows you the exact point it found.

  3. Calculate road distance and estimated travel time

One routing request covers all 16 reference locations at once.

  4. Compare Dholera reference locations

Results are sorted by road distance, nearest first, with an estimated driving time for each.

  5. View an individual route

See the road route on a map, then open the same directions in Google Maps.

Why road distance matters

Straight-line distance
The distance as the crow flies. Easy to measure on a map, but no vehicle travels it.
Road distance
The length of an actual driving route along mapped roads. This is what DholeraGIS reports.
Estimated travel time
How long that route takes to drive, from road types and typical speeds — not live traffic.

Two plots the same straight-line distance from a landmark can be very different to reach. Roads bend around creeks, salt pans, rail lines and private land, and a point that looks close on a map may only be reachable by a long detour to the nearest crossing. Road distance and drive time describe access as you would actually experience it, which is why DholeraGIS never reports straight-line distance as road distance.

Dholera location research

Road access is one part of understanding a location in Dholera. Where a plot sits in the plan — inside or outside the SIR, which TP scheme, which zone — matters at least as much. These pages cover the rest:

Use cases

  • Compare a location with Dholera SIR Core
  • Check road connectivity to Dholera International Airport
  • Understand the distance to the ABCD Building / Activation Area
  • Compare several regional locations against the same reference points
  • Plan the order of property visits in a day
  • Research accessibility around Dholera before a site visit

Frequently asked questions

What is DholeraGIS?

DholeraGIS is a free location-intelligence and routing tool from DholeraMaster. Give it a location — a Google Maps link, coordinates, or your device's location — and it calculates the road distance and estimated driving time to 16 Dholera SIR and regional reference locations, sorts them nearest first, and shows the road route to any one of them on a map.

Can I use DholeraGIS on my mobile phone?

Yes. DholeraGIS runs in any modern mobile browser on Android or iPhone, as well as on tablets and computers. There is nothing to install, and no account or login.

Can I paste a Google Maps URL?

Yes. Paste a Google Maps place link and DholeraGIS reads the coordinates of the place pin, which it prefers over the map view centre also contained in most links. Short share links (maps.app.goo.gl) do not contain coordinates; open one and copy the full address from the browser, or paste the coordinates instead.

How is road distance calculated?

DholeraGIS sends your location and the reference points to OSRM, an open-source routing engine, which finds a driving route along the mapped road network and returns its length and estimated driving time. All the reference points are calculated in a single request. These are routing estimates without live traffic, and they can differ from Google Maps, which uses different road data.

Does DholeraGIS require Google Maps API?

No. DholeraGIS does not use the Google Maps API or any API key. Routing comes from OSRM and the route map is drawn with Leaflet on OpenStreetMap tiles. The "Open in Google Maps" button simply opens Google Maps' public directions link for the same start and end points.

What routing data does DholeraGIS use?

OpenStreetMap road data, routed through the public OSRM server. OpenStreetMap is community-maintained, so a newly built road may not appear until it has been mapped.

Which Dholera locations are included?

Dholera SIR Core, ABCD Building / Activation Area, Dholera International Airport, Navagam, Mundi, Bhangadh, Bavaliyari, Zankhi, Sodhi, Bhadiyad, Pipli–Fedra, Fedra, Vataman, Adhelai, Lothal / NMHC, Akru. These are reference points for routing comparison, not boundaries.

Is DholeraGIS an official government GIS system?

No. DholeraGIS is an independent tool built by DholeraMaster. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by DSIRDA, DICDL or any government body, and its reference points are not official surveyed boundaries.

Does DholeraGIS verify land ownership?

DholeraGIS provides location and routing information. It does not verify land ownership, title, legal status, zoning approval or government records. Always verify official records and applicable government sources before making property or investment decisions.

Can I use DholeraGIS for property research?

Yes, as one input. It is useful for comparing how well connected different plots or villages are by road, and for planning site visits. It says nothing about title, zoning or legal status, which have to be checked separately against official records.

Your location. Location access is requested only when you tap Use My Location. The coordinates you enter or share are sent to the OSRM routing service to calculate distances and routes, and viewing a route loads map tiles for that area from OpenStreetMap. DholeraMaster does not store your coordinates and does not send them to our analytics. See the privacy policy.
